It Doesn’t Get Much More Private than Costa Rica’s New Cielo Lodge

This small hideaway will instantly top any explorer’s dream getaway list.

At a time when privacy is at a premium, Cielo Lodge is the kind of place that any nature-loving escapist should dream about. Opening January 15, this hideaway is as simple as it is striking with just six suites available and a maximum occupancy of 24 people. But don’t let those numbers fool you. The exclusivity of this experience heightens the opportunity for enjoying everything this lodge has to offer.

Set within 380 acres of beautiful primary and secondary rainforest of Costa Rica’s Golifto region, Cielo Lodge was developed by owner Nicole Goldstein as a place for people to disconnect from their daily burdens and discover something special.

“We built Cielo Lodge as a respite for people seeking to reconnect—with nature, with each other, and ultimately with themselves,” she explains. “Especially after such a challenging year, we are delighted to officially announce our opening and to share this incredibly special hideaway with nature-loving travelers.”

Building on one of the preeminent travel trends of 2020, the lodge’s foremost initial offering is the Rainforest Sanctuary Buyout Package, which allows small groups or families to experience the ultimate in privacy by simply booking every suite. For a flat daily rate, guests will enjoy all meals and activities, as well as access to the full grounds. That includes relaxing in the infinity-edge saltwater pool and enjoying breathtaking sunsets while sipping cocktails at the Sunset Bar.

Influenced and inspired by its surroundings, Cielo Lodge should also top the list of travel destinations for anyone inspired to focus on health and self-love in the New Year. The activities and wellness program features daily itineraries that include rainforest walks in the morning and evening, as well as sunrise yoga and private surfing expeditions to Pavones, among other adventures.

There’s also a Connection to Community program that takes guests to local farms so they can learn about Costa Rica’s most important crops, and they’ll even be welcomed by the Ngöbes (or Guamí), one of the country’s eight indigenous groups. A shaman will discuss the use of plants for medicinal purposes and the visitors will also try local fruits and vegetables, along with other creations.

Make no mistake about it, Cielo Lodge is not the place for night owls looking for big parties. This is simply a place for people who want to appreciate true natural beauty, unwind and enjoy yhr things that make Costa Rica so unmistakably distinct.
