Celebrity status definitely makes someone a player in the high-end real-estate market and some of the priciest and most highly coveted homes—many located on the coast in cities such as Los Angeles, New York and Miami—belong to the top names in music, television and the movies. Until they decide to sell them, that is. Certain other residences have a celebrity-related history (think Marilyn Monroe) that gives them eternal star quality.

Here’s a look at six amazing celebrity homes for sale right now.

A Very Familiar Mansion

If this historic Victorian mansion in Los Angeles looks familiar, it’s because the 12,565-square-foot property was featured in the 2003 movie “Cheaper by the Dozen” starring Steve Martin and Hilary Duff. But in real life, it’s been owned by celebrated tattoo entrepreneur/model/author Cat Von D since 2016.

A Truly Star-studded NYC Penthouse

Celebrities do indeed catch some Z’s in the city that never sleeps — and three of them nodded off in a quadplex penthouse in New York’s Noho neighborhood located in a circa-1908 silk factory building (many might remember its ground floor as home to Tower Records in the ‘80s and ‘90s).

Music and film legend Cher was the penthouse’s first owner until she sold it to entrepreneur Russell Simmons in 1990. Britney Spears later bought the apartment and resided there for four years, combining the space with another unit to create a 3,785-square-foot, four-bedroom abode featuring wood-burning fireplaces and a large terrace with views over Greenwich Village. Asking price: $6,995,000.

Sun Valley
Who says paradise can’t be found in Idaho? TopTenRealEstateDeals.com

It may not be on the coast, but Sun Valley, Idaho, is a playground for those who enjoy skiing and snowboarding in winter and fly fishing, biking and hiking in winter. It was also the setting for screen legend Marilyn Monroe’s 1956 film “Bus Stop,” which was filmed on a rustic-luxe estate that’s now for sale.

The 12-acre compound features a 6,000-square-foot modern craftsman main house with five bedrooms, a 3,000-square-foot party barn and a 2,000-square-foot guest house, a former general store that was the setting for Grace’s Diner in the movie before it was repurposed into a guest house for the estate. Asking price: $15,995,000.
