3 Ghost Tours in the Caribbean

If you love learning the history of haunted places, then a ghost tour is the way to go. These three ghost tours in the Caribbean promise a spooky good time.

Rose Hall Great House

A fright fest is offered nightly at the Rose Hall Great House, the heart of a former Montego Bay plantation. The hour-long tour includes re-enactments and promises shrieks, especially thanks to former plantation wife Annie Palmer, the white witch renowned for slaying three husbands. Don’t miss a stop at the dungeon, now a bar. If the tour didn’t give you goose bumps, down a couple Witches Brew cocktails and see what develops.

U.S. Virgin Islands

On St. Thomas, spooky storytelling takes place on the water. Virgin Islands Ecotours offers a 2 1/2 -hour night kayak tour visiting Cas Cay lagoon. Along the way, guests are regaled with tales of Blackbeard, Mary Read and other pirates, plus stories of ghosts and shipwrecks in the area. Lights on the kayak hulls illuminate stingrays and juvenile sharks slipping beneath the boats. Be sure to bring your nerves of steel.

The 60-minute Haunted History Bermuda Tour packs four centuries of true stories with street-performance art into a walking show through St. George’s Town. Participants learn about freedom-fighting slaves, as well as the wealthy Tucker family, who controlled much of the nascent island’s politics. “We get a few screams every night, and people often run out of the St. Peter’s churchyard cemetery screaming,” says Kristin White, creator of the tour. “But it all celebrates the history of St. George’s and makes sure the spirits of these important people live on.”
