Following its opening in January, Bungalows Key Largo was the subject of a lot of buzz. After all, this is the Florida Keys’ first all-inclusive resort, and this brand new adults-only spot was offering unparalleled luxury in a location that is perfect for anyone seeking the ideal Keys experience. But then tragedy struck.
On an early Sunday morning in May, a fire blazed through the main building of Bungalows Key Largo, destroying the entire upstairs area, while dealing considerable water damage downstairs. The main building features the lobby, Zen Garden Spa, the Hemingway Bar and two restaurants: Fish Tales and Bogie & Bacall’s. Guests and employees were evacuated and no one was injured, fortunately.
On December 19, Bungalows Key Largo will finally reopen its doors and the two-story beach house that serves as the main building has been completely restored to its original glory. The resort is currently accepting reservations.

Located 62 miles south of Miami, and not far from John Pennekamp State Park, Bungalows Key Largo boasts 135 private bungalows on 12 acres of waterfront property. In addition to Fish Tales and Bogie & Bacall’s, guests can enjoy beachside casual Mexican fare at Sea Señor and cocktails on the two six-seat tiki boats, S.S. Rum Runner and S.S. Margarita.
